Thinking about starting therapy is a big step, and it takes a lot of courage to reach out and ask for help. Therapy might be right for you if:
You’re going through a big life change, and having a hard time adjusting to it.
You don’t feel like yourself, and you want to feel better.
There’s something from your past that you can’t seem to let go of.
You feel “stuck” in certain patterns, whether in relationships, how you treat yourself, or recurrent negative thoughts, and you’re ready to change.
You’re looking for support beyond what family, friends, or self-help books can offer.
You’re ready to do the work it takes to make meaningful change, even if that means acknowledging painful feelings or trying something new.
Sessions vary depending on what you need each time we meet. I’ll often start by asking, “What would be most helpful today?”. My style as a therapist is pretty conversational - I ask a lot of questions, offer observations, teach coping skills, and listen closely. We can also incorporate meditation, deep breathing, or other mindfulness exercises into sessions. Appointments are 45-55 minutes long.
Length of time in therapy varies from person to person and what’s bringing you to therapy. In our initial sessions, we set goals for our work together, and we’ll periodically check in on them in order to ensure you feel like therapy has been helpful. I’ve seen some clients for just a few months, and others for years.
While many of my clients are in the perinatal period (any time from considering having children through the first few years of parenthood), not all are! I also work with individuals who are going through significant life changes, coping with long-term impacts of childhood trauma, or dealing with general anxiety and depression. If you feel like we could work well together, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Yes. At this time, all appointments are virtual and conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. This allows you to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts, which means that even for virtual sessions you must be physically located in MA at the time of our appointment. My license does not permit me to provide therapy to clients outside the state.
Trauma-conscious yoga and clinical consultation (as long as it is not supervision toward licensure) are not considered therapy, so I can offer those services to individuals located anywhere.
Yes, absolutely! Babies under one year of age (or who are not yet walking and talking) are welcome. I kindly ask that you arrange for childcare for older children so we can be fully present and focused in our time together.
Yes, I am an in-network provider with Aetna and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. If you do not have one of these plans, we can still work together through out-of-network benefits or self-pay options. Please go to the Rates page for more information.
