Trauma-Conscious Yoga
The Trauma-Conscious Yoga Method (TCYM) is an embodied healing modality that is rooted in social justice. This holistic approach creates a safe space for trauma survivors to reconnect with their bodies through meditation, breath work, and movement.
a mind-body approach to healing
When you experience trauma or chronic stress, especially around major life shifts like pregnancy, postpartum, or loss, your body can carry the imprint long after the moment has passed. You might feel stuck in survival mode, on-edge, or disconnected from your own body. Trauma-Conscious Yoga helps regulate the nervous system, allowing you to feel safe, calm, and present. It can be a deeply empowering complement to talk therapy, offering a different kind of healing that starts from within.

You don’t need to be flexible or experienced in yoga to benefit from TCYM. Sessions are slow, intentional, and completely tailored to you. We might explore grounding practices, breathwork, gentle movement, or guided reflection. You’ll never be told what to do with your body, and everything is invitational.

If you had a traumatic birth and feel like your body doesn't belong to you anymore, you're struggling with anxiety and feel like you can't slow down, or are simply dealing with stressors in everyday life, TCYM may be for you.

move at your own pace
To integrate TCYM into traditional talk therapy sessions, we may start or end with a meditation, or pause mid-session to do some gentle movement or breathwork. We can also spend a full hour practicing yoga together. Those sessions will be uniquely designed for you, with customizations for pregnancy and postpartum if necessary.
I approach this work with deep respect for your lived experience and a commitment to inclusive, culturally-sensitive care. I am a 200-hour trained yoga instructor, and have completed additional trainings in restorative yoga and yoga for beginners. Through The Trauma-Conscious Yoga Institute, I am certified in the Trauma-Conscious Yoga Method and Trauma-Conscious Reproductive Health for Mind, Embodiment, and Soul. I blend my yoga teaching experience with my clinical social work background to create a space where you can regain a sense of trust in your body.
We can practice TCYM virtually or in-person in my office in Brookline, MA. No matter where we are, no fancy clothes or props are necessary!
